
Two cars collided on the RN11 at around 9pm on Friday, injuring six people, three of whom were left with more severe injuries.
The incident occurred when one vehicle collided with an oncoming car during an overtaking manoeuvre. The two occupants of the second car, both of whom were seriously injured, had to be freed from the wreckage by the emergency services. First aid was administered on the spot before the two were taken to hospital.
A third person suffered severe injuries and had to be extracted from the first vehicle at the scene, while the remaining three occupants experienced minor injuries.
Five ambulances attended the scene of the crash at the Junglinster bypass, alongside two Samu first responders. The road was closed to traffic for some time following the incident, with police asking motorists to turn back.
Elsewhere, one person was injured in a collision between a car and a motorbike on Rue de Neudorf in the capital on Friday night.
