PoliceSix licenses confiscated on Friday night

Following a court order, alcohol checks were carried out over the course of three hours on the N5 in Schouweiler throughout the night leading into Saturday.

145 motorists were stopped for breathalyser checks between 11.30pm and 3.00am. Four tests came back positive, and two licenses were confiscated.

Additional breathalyser tests were carried out in Sanem between 2.30am and 4.00am. 46 motorists were pulled over, nine of which were found to be over the legal limit. Two licenses were withdrawn.

In Brandenbourg, one motorist, who was driving erratically, was stopped by the police and was found to be over the legal alcohol limit. He had to hand over his license. Another license was confiscated in Kayl.

Drug checks

During a drug check on rue de la Déportation in Gasperich, a drug dealer attempted to hide four bags of cannabis in a bin. He was caught by the police who managed to seize a total of 16.5 grams of Cannabis. The man in question was fined.

A police patrol noticed a man rolling a joint outside an apartment building entrance on rue de Strasbourg in Luxembourg City at 9.20pm. The individual threw a small amount of cannabis under a parked vehicle. The police seized the drugs and fined the man.

Several individuals were caught using heroine in the Gare area in Luxembourg City. The police seized the drugs, as well as a gun.

Mass brawl in Boxhorn

Between 20 and 25 young adults were involved in a mass brawl during a manifestation. There are no known reports of injuries.
