Earlier in the evening on Saturday, around 9.20 pm, the police were alerted to a driver zigzagging their car on the A4 motorway. Witnesses stated that at times, the driver was even crossing over all three lanes while making his way to Esch-sur-Alzette.

Officers were able to identify and stop the car near the Belvaux exit. It turned out that apart from being intoxicated, the driver was also in the country illegally. The police awarded a fine and a driving ban.

Reckless drivers

Shortly after midnight, a police patrol came across another drink driver on the A4 motorway, this time near the Pontpierre exit. The license was revoked at the scene.

Around 10 pm, the police were also alerted to a reckless driver in Lorentzweiler. The license was revoked and the man fined for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Car in flames

In Luxembourg City, a driver caused an accident with material damage. Around 2.30 am, the man in question lost control over his vehicle in Rue de Rolingergrund, which lead him to first crash into a street light, and subsequently into a stationary vehicle.

The man's car erupted in flames after the accident. The fire brigade was thus called to the scene to extinguish the flames. By that time, the culprit had however already fled the scene on foot. As he has not yet been found, the Luxembourg City police department launched an investigation.

Finally, the police were alerted to a fallout between three people in the Grenz district in Esch-sur-Alzette. Officers first deescalated the situation, before searching the agitators and testing them for alcohol. They found minor amounts of marijuana and determined that one person was too intoxicated to drive. The license was revoked and all three of them were fined.
