Luxembourg police conducted a targeted speed check on Tuesday morning along the A4 motorway near an active construction site, where the speed limit is reduced to 70 km/h.
During the two-hour operation from 10.45am to 12.40pm, officers issued 16 citations for drivers exceeding the limit by over 25 km/h, each resulting in a €145 fine and a 2-point licence deduction.
Seven of these cases involved speeds of 114 km/h or higher, prompting immediate licence revocations.
An additional seven drivers were fined for speeds between 110-113 km/h.
Separately, one motorist received a €250 fine and four-point deduction for using a mobile phone while driving.
