There has been a new wave of burglaries across the country in the last 24 hours, including an attempted break-in at a church in Goesdorf.

On the afternoon of Monday, 21 August, the police were alerted to an attempted burglary at a church situated in Goesdorf. Preliminary investigations reveal that the culprits forcibly gained access to a storeroom by prying open a rear door and breaking a window. The thieves then tried to get inside the church but were unsuccessful.

In the early hours of Tuesday, 22 August, a burglary was reported at a riding school located in Bertrange. The culprits stole multiple saddles from the stables.

Shortly afterwards, an attempted break-in was reported at a family home on Rue du Verger in Luxembourg City, during which the perpetrators damaged the front door. The commotion alerted the inhabitants, prompting them to turn on a light. The assailants then fled and are still on the run.
