In August 2022, the tunnel linking Kautenbach and Wilwerwiltz was closed following a landslide, interrupting train traffic between Troisvierges and the capital for nearly 11 months. The renovation works initially planned to see the line reopen in December last year, then the deadline was pushed back to April, then delayed once more due to the complex nature of the reconstruction process.
Now, the line has reopened once more - albeit temporarily, as CFL will carry out planned engineering works from 20 August to 10 September 2023.
