Using this false identity, the pair gained entry into the residence of their unsuspecting victim. While one of them requested a glass of water, the other took advantage of the homeowner’s temporary absence to steal a substantial sum of cash and several items. The suspects then fled with their loot.

The authorities initiated a search operation, but they were unable to apprehend the fleeing suspects. An official investigation has been launched.

It should be noted that the police have compiled a number of guidelines on their website to help residents avoid falling victim to these types of scams.
