Following the municipal elections of 11 June, the CSV-Greens majority in Sandweiler was replaced by an LSAP-DP majority. This local council now wants to turn back the clock on the new logo that the outgoing coalition put forward in its final days.

Jacqueline Breuer, new Mayor of Sandweiler, confirmed the news to our RTL colleagues during her swearing-in ceremony at the Ministry for Home Affairs on Tuesday.
“Well, we’ll deal with that now, I think we’re done with that. We’ll deal with it quietly and our old logo will be kept.”
The new logo, described by the incoming majority as a ‘dull, unaesthetic, black and white logo that says nothing,’ was set to appear online, on the façade of the municipality, on service vehicles, staff clothing, and stationery.
The DP and LSAP had voiced their regret that the decision was not discussed in any of the municipal council meetings. Furthermore, they claim to have been left in the dark regarding the costs of the replacement works.
