The deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice suffered a heart attack two weeks ago while in Belgium. He has been hospitalised since 22 August, with his condition said to be serious. Still in intensive care, he was recently transferred to a specialist hospital for further tests.

The Council of Government and its return after the summer holidays was meant to be celebrated by a barbecue alongside the press; however, this has been cancelled and moved to next Thursday.

In its place, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will hold a briefing at midday on Friday.

This will be dealing with the topic of the Ministry of Justice. According to RTL's sources, Minister for Culture and Housing Sam Tanson is likely to take over in the interim, as she has a background in law.

Senior government officials are having to seriously consider the potential long term replacement for Braz to allow for his health condition. If this were to be the case, a new government member will have to be selected from the Green Party. The selection is usually done internally and any potential replacement must come from the southern district.
