RTL Luxembourg and Film Fund Luxembourg are launching a joint call for projects aimed at producers, directors, screenwriters, and other audiovisual professionals based in Luxembourg, as part of efforts to strengthen their partnership and encourage the development of programmes for national television.

The call seeks to support original content for broadcast on RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg and to foster works that reflect the richness and diversity of Luxembourg’s audiovisual landscape.

Call for projects: Fiction and animation series

Submitted projects must:

• Take the form of a fiction and/or animation series;
• consist of episodes whose length may vary according to the narrative needs of the work;
• be primarily in Luxembourgish, with the option of French and English subtitles.

Eligibility criteria

All projects must:

• Reflect the cultural, social, and linguistic diversity of Luxembourgish society;
• show potential for broadcast on RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg;
• meet the eligibility criteria for Film Fund Luxembourg’s selective financial aid at the time any application for production funding is submitted.

Any request for support for a further season of a series already backed under the RTL Luxembourg and Film Fund Luxembourg partnership must also be submitted through this call.

What to include

Each application must contain:

• A proposed title;
• a fully completed application form;
• a detailed presentation of the series’ concept and format;
• a treatment for the pilot episode (a full pilot script may be included as an optional extra);
• a projected development and production budget demonstrating the project’s feasibility;
• a projected timeline for delivery of an answer print within two to three years.

Previously submitted projects

Projects rejected in earlier calls organised jointly by RTL Luxembourg and Film Fund Luxembourg may be resubmitted, provided they have been substantially developed or revised.

Projects will be assessed on their artistic quality, editorial relevance, potential to reach a Luxembourgish audience and production feasibility.

How to apply and deadline

For each submission, an electronic copy must be sent to both office@filmfund.etat.lu and secretariat@rtl.lu, and two hard copies must be posted to each of the following addresses:
