The rapid tests will be distributed in four centres across the Grand Duchy.

The distribution takes place between 7.30am and 6.00pm from Monday to Friday, and between 8.00am and 12.00pm on Saturday mornings. The centres will however be closed on Whit Monday. The process was discussed in detail during a session of the Chamber's labour commission on Tuesday morning.

During the press conference that followed, Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy Dan Kersch underlined that the tests will not be mandatory. Nevertheless, it is of critical importance that employers and employees do everything in their power to increase the safety of the people around them, Minister Kersch further noted.

The plan is to give businesses the opportunity to test their employees twice per week over a six-week period. With an estimated 475,000 people eligible for the measure, six million tests could potentially be used.

Businesses will receive an invitation to collect the tests from one of the country's four centres, which are located in Soleuvre, Bertrange, Diekirch, and Grevenmacher.
