DudelangePresumed burglars get the better of police in pursuit, escape via French border

RTL Today
An attempt to catch two burglars suspected of being responsible for break-ins in Dudelange remained futile, as police were forced to abandon the pursuit at the French border.

On Sunday night, police were alerted to two individuals who displayed suspicious behaviour in the centre of Dudelange, with witnesses assuming that they might be burglars.

Police followed up on the lead and found that there was in fact a break-in at a business on Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, as well as an attempted break-in on Rue de Commerce in Dudelange.

Officers later found the presumed suspects in a vehicle on Route de Bettembourg and started a pursuit, during which the fugitive drivers unsuccessfully attempted to push the police vehicle off the road.

Nevertheless, the presumed burglars managed to cross the French border and escape the immediate grasp of Luxembourg’s authorities.
