The 'Multilaterale 2019 Luxemburg' exhibition is being held at the LUXEXPO from 8 to 10 November, bringing together stamps from all German-speaking countries. The exhibition is organised by the POST Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Federation FSPL (Fédération des Sociétés philatéliques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg). POST collaborated with the postal administration of the next country to host the exhibition, which is Austria.
Together they have worked on a special stamp sharing a communal theme, which is the 500th anniversary of the day then-future Holy Roman Emperor Charles V became the Archduke of Austria. Charles V was also Duke of Luxembourg, and reigned over all the Germanic countries at various times, creating a link between the Germanic Federations of Philately.
Another one of the new stamps depicts the impressive and extensive underground defence system known as the casemates. The casemates are closely linked to the history of Luxembourg City, transforming the city into a fortress over the course of 150 years.
In 2005, Luxembourg joined the European Space Agency as a member, leading to the involvement of Luxembourgish businesses in the ESA research and development programs and spatial research projects.
The artist of the stamp, Agata Tobolczyk, works and lives in her country of origin, which is one of the countries Luxembourg signed a cooperation agreement in the domain of spatial projects.
