On Saturday night, the Grand Ducal police checked 532 motorists at four different checkpoints, including three in the capital. This large-scale operation was carried out on the orders of the prosecutor’s office. The result were 24 recorded offences and eight licences withdrawn.
According to police, 15 official reports were drawn up in the end and nine penalties imposed. The licences were withdrawn after the motorists in question tested positive for alcohol.
Two additional licences were withdrawn in Esch-sur-Alzette and Niederkorn during spontaneous checks.
