Two individuals arrestedPolice stop public altercations; intoxicated motorists

Police officers broke up a dozen fights throughout the country, across Saturday evening and into the early morning.

Police intervened in a public altercation between two people in Luxembourg City on Saturday night, at the Place de la Gare, leading one person to spend the night at the police station.

At a Diekirch campsite, one person was reported for insulting other guests. The person was arrested for only a brief period of time.

Roughly 30 noise complaints were made throughout the night.

Drunk drivers

The police also reported a few drivers for operating vehicles while under the influence.

Around 3am, a driver was reported to the police for possible intoxication. Officers found the driver in Bous and checked his alcohol level. It was above the legal limit and his licence was confiscated.

On the A7 motorway around Colmar-Berg at around 5am, police patrol noticed a parked car. The driver was found sleeping behind the steering wheel. This driver was also drunk and their car was impounded, but they were able to keep their licence.

An additional two driving licences were confiscated in Wormer and Wincrange.
