Between Friday afternoon and Saturday night, Luxembourg police intercepted several drivers for suspected alcohol intoxication, resulting in provisional driving bans and licence confiscations.

The first incident occurred Friday afternoon when officers observed a vehicle illegally parked in a no-stopping zone before it drove across tram tracks as a tram approached. After pulling the driver over, police noticed clear signs of intoxication. The individual was uncooperative and refused a breathalyser test. Authorities issued a provisional driving ban and, following a medical assessment, placed the driver in custody due to the perceived danger they posed to themselves and others.

Later that evening, police received a report of a car swerving erratically while travelling north on the A7 motorway. The driver was stopped and tested positive on a breathalyser, leading to the immediate confiscation of their licence.

At approximately 8pm, another driver was reported for erratic behaviour while travelling from Altrier towards Michelshof. A subsequent breathalyser test confirmed they were over the legal limit, resulting in a provisional driving ban.

A final incident took place early Saturday morning at around 2.30am, when an intoxicated driver was located in a car park in Howald and was also required to surrender their driving licence.
