A dedicated pop-up police station will be located, as is the case every year, between the door of the main entrance to the fair and the Grand Théâtre (near the tram tracks). The station is open every day between 2pm and 1am.
Beyond the presence at the command post, officers will carry out regular patrols on site and in the immediate surroundings, in particular the municipal park.
In addition, police officers from the regional special police service (SRPS) will keep a watchful eye on fairground trade permits and, alongside other official bodies, on various technical and health regulations.
The Luxembourgish police will regularly be accompanied by dog units. Occasionally, within the framework of the Prüm Treaty, German, Belgian and French police officers will patrol together with their Luxembourg colleagues.
As with any event bringing together a large number of people, police call on visitors to remain vigilant, watch out for pickpockets and report any suspicious object or person to police.
Subsequently, when they go to the Schueberfouer, they can pick up a sticker indicating an individual identification code and a telephone number from the police station.
This allows officers who encounter a lost child to quickly identify them and the adult responsible. Simultaneously, people who find a lost child have the station’s telephone number in order for them to alert security.
As is expected, the festivities result in a lot of traffic.
Traffic police will fine improperly-parked vehicles, and those parked in spots reserved for the disabled, taxis or deliveries risk being towed.
Big physical obstacles obstructing direct vehicle access to the Glacis will be installed.
It is recommended to use public transport or make use of the various Park & Rides around the city.
