
Early Saturday morning, a car chase took place in the streets of Esch–sur–Alzette. The police patrol pursued a car driving at high speed on boulevard Charles de Gaulle. The motorist ignored the flashing lights and sirens at first, yet he ended up stopping after a certain amount of time, indicate the police.
The police officers immediately noticed signs of alcoholism.
The driver, however, disregarded the police orders and decided to leave his car during the control to go home. The police had to restrain him, which led to the culprit voicing death threats. They were only able to calm him down after a second patrol arrived.
The calm did not last long as he proceeded to insult the police while refusing to cooperate for a breathalyser test. As a consequence, his license was confiscated. An official report was also compiled.
Another unusual incident took place simultaneously in Belval, where a car had crashed into a tree and a traffic sign. When the emergency services arrived, the driver was nowhere to be found. The police searched surrounding areas to find a woman declaring she had nothing to do with the accident. They then drove to the address of the car’s owner, where they faced the same woman. She attempted to flee again, restating her innocence. Upon further inquiry, the police discovered that the woman was not in possession of a valid license, in addition to being inebriated. An official complaint was filed.
