Tuesday night, police were alerted to a car theft on Frummeschgaass in Munshausen. The local Robbesscheier tourist centre later confirmed to RTL that it was one of their vehicles that been stolen.
Officers swiftly initiated a search and the vehicle was located shortly after thanks to the help of witnesses and a canine unit. Video footage obtained by RTL shows two police motorcycles pursuing the fugitive driver, who is said to have been detained on Wednesday afternoon.
Police have since issued a statement to announce that five youths, including two minors, were detained near Esch-sur-Sûre. The prosecutor’s office was subsequently informed and an official report was drafted.
In a social media post, the tourist centre later noted that the vehicle had been damaged, most likely colliding with a wall during the police chase.
