RTL Today
One week after the police intervention in Ettelbruck, some friends of the fatally injured man planned to organise a protest. However, no one showed up according to a RTL journalist.

The man's family had already distanced themselves from the protest, as had the 'Lëtz Rise Up' and 'Finkapé' associations, which fight against racism. The man who was shot during the police intervention was of Brazilian origin, hence the involvement of such organisations.

Prior to the intervention, the man had threatened a person in Hosingen and stolen his car. When he was confronted by the police in Ettelbruck, he attacked an officer with a knife, which then led to the officer shooting him. The incident is being investigated by the police and the public prosecutor.
