Schrantz retired from his position as police chief in May 2024, handing over responsibilities to Pascal Peters.
Before leading the police from March 2015, Schrantz served as director of human resources at CFL.
Joining Schrantz in the leadership team is Erica Monfardini, who will serve as financial director and head of administrative tasks, as confirmed in a press release from HUT on Monday.
In November, Netty Klein and Evie Roos were also added to the board.
The board of directors expressed confidence in Schrantz’s leadership, emphasising that his expertise will help establish HUT as a key player in Luxembourg’s social sector.
Hëllef um Terrain (“Help on the Ground”) officially became operational in Luxembourg on 1 October 2024.
The non-profit association was founded after it came to light this summer that Caritas had lost over €60 million in a major fraud scandal, leaving the charity on the verge of financial collapse and putting many of its activities in jeopardy.
The hypothesis currently favoured by the public prosecutor’s office is that Caritas fell victim to an executive phishing scheme, also known as a CEO scam. HUT has taken specific measures to avoid a similar fate.
