The non-profit association is reviewing its 40 years of existence under the slogan of 'living, working, and deciding together'.

ASTI (Support for Migrant Workers Association - Association de Soutien aux Travailleurs Emigrés) was founded in 1979, the non-profit organisation's main objective consisting of advocating non-citizens' rights to vote in municipal elections. Throughout the years, the association's projects have diversified.

ASTI has pitched pilot projects focusing on 'living together' and the organisation continues to focus on inclusivity. Reexamining its past work and future priorities, the association plans to push for a new law on integration, given the most recent law dates back to 2008 and society has changed in the ensuing eleven years.

Laura Zuccoli, ASTI's president, explained that many of the association's projects have focused on learning and practising languages, as it is rather difficult to arrive in Luxembourg and get to grips with the languages. Additionally, ASTI has worked with municipalities, supporting authorities in endorsing and encouraging living together and getting involved in society.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the organisation will host a conference on 11 December and examine the example of eastern Belgium to ascertain whether such a model of participation could be successful in Luxembourg.

Other events will also take place to celebrate 40 years of ASTI, notably 13 conferences and two TNS-Ilres surveys on 'living together'. The association is also using an app, IZI Travel, to organise a walking a walking tour of Luxembourg City which focuses on twelve locations that are significant to migration.
