Unresolved disputeOGBL accuses Coca-Cola Luxembourg of stalling labour agreement talks

RTL Today
Seeking a breakthrough in prolonged labour agreement discussions, the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) has taken its grievances against Coca-Cola Luxembourg to the National Conciliation Office and is now preparing further action.

The OGBL alleges that since November 2022, “Coca-Cola Luxembourg management has continued to block discussions on the renewal of the collective labour agreement”. Employees were determined to negotiate a new three-year agreement, with their main demand being recurrent pay rises.

The trade union further alleges that Coca-Cola has failed to publish transparent figures on company profits and that they threatened to abandon negotiations if the OGBL does not accept their offer.

To find a way forward, the OGBL decided in June to take the issue to the National Conciliation Office (ONC). Coca-Cola is since said to have come back to the negotiating table, but is still offering “modest and far-removed” proposals, according to the trade union.

In this latest statement, the OGBL has now announced taking “all necessary” action to advance their cause.
