A police check was carried out on Rue d’Audun in Esch-sur-Alzette on Sunday morning. One driver was clearly not happy to see the officers there as he tried to avoid the checkpoint, thereby provoking a short chase with the authorities.
Once immobilised by officers, the individual refused to get out of his vehicle while pushing the police away with force. The officers eventually managed to subdue him, but one of them was slightly injured in the altercation.
A statement of offence was drawn up, but the driver was not at the end of his tether with the police as he had no driving licence and refused to take a breathalyser test despite clear signs of alcohol consumption.
