Preliminary police inquiries indicate that an unidentified individual raised the roller shutters of a flat and gained access through an open window.
However, the resident was awakened by the commotion and investigated the source of the disturbance. It was during this confrontation that the resident and the burglar came face to face, prompting the intruder to hastily flee in an unknown direction.
An official investigation into the incident has been launched.
