Subsequently, individuals purporting to represent LuxTrust contact the victims, claiming the initial message was a hoax. They advise victims to disclose their information over the phone to prevent falling victim to the scam.
In some instances, individuals posing as ‘employees’ have gone as far as personally collecting the affected cards. Exploiting this opportunity, they proceed to make unauthorised withdrawals using the stolen cards.
The police urge residents to exercise caution and ignore any messages containing the subject ‘CCSS/CNS’.
