
The first took place in the capital at around midday on Saturday. An entrance door on Rue de Chicago was forcefully opened and then several cellars were robbed.
This was followed by a burglary on Rue de Mühlenbach, also in Luxembourg City. A house was targeted in this case and several valuables, including a bicycle, were stolen.
Early in the evening, burglars invaded a building site on Rue Lohr in Mersch and stole copper cables. However, authorities managed to arrest the perpetrators soon after and their loot and vehicle were seized by order of the prosecutor’s office.
An attempted burglary was then reported on Saturday night at around 1.30am. The incident took place in a house on Route d’Esch in Gasperich. The burglars were surprised by a resident and fled.
At around 9.20am on Sunday morning, a garage was broken into in Merl. The burglars managed to escape with two bicycles. Another burglary took place on Place Dargent at virtually the same time. Investigations have been launched in both cases.
