Topics of love, sexuality, and emotions form the core of CESAS’s expertise. To underscore the significance of these issues, CESAS, in collaboration with its partners, is initiating an awareness campaign starting this Wednesday.

CESAS supports professionals by equipping them with the necessary training and resources to facilitate accessible discussions on emotional and sexual health. CESAS itself does not directly intervene in these matters. Christa Bömmel, Coordinator at CESAS, explained the organisation’s role, stating, “we aim to guide professionals in discerning what is ethically right, focusing on pivotal issues, and effectively conveying this information. We seek to empower them to accompany young individuals in developing a fulfilling and happy sexual life without imposing decisions upon them.”

After the start of the new school year, CESAS has scheduled a series of activities from 14 to 20 October, targeting both professionals and the general public, to heighten awareness about sexual and emotional health. CESAS representative Viviane Lima elaborated on the thematic structure of the week, highlighting its multifaceted approach, encompassing aspects of childhood, adolescence, family dynamics, diversity, educational tools, special needs, sexual violence prevention, and public health.

In addition to the health week, CESAS has organised two additional initiatives. On Contraception Day, they conduct online seminars that delve into various facets of contraception. Additionally, the “Let’s Talk about Sex!” project offers six comprehensive theoretical training sessions, each spanning four hours, addressing specific topics. These sessions culminate in a practical day, during which participants engage with the organisation’s new pedagogical toolkit, “Let’s Talk about Sex.” This toolkit equips individuals with the necessary skills for effective sex education, guiding them in adopting a constructive approach to addressing various facets of sexuality.

All CESAS activities are free and open to everyone.
