
Meteolux’s first weather alert of 2026 was issued earlier today, with large parts of the Grand Duchy forecast for snow and ice. The weather has proven to be hazardous to drivers.
On Friday morning, a motorist spun off the road between Dippach and Holzem. Since then, a series of further accidents has been reported throughout the afternoon.
Shortly after 1pm, a vehicle overturned on the CR320 between Putscheid and Stolzembourg, resulting in one injured individual, who was attended to by emergency services from Nordstad and Weiler-Putscheid.
Nordstad emergency services were called again at 2.37pm after an accident on the N7 between Fridhaff and Diekirch, which did not result in any injured parties. Another accident without injuries occurred at 4.23pm on the CR143 between Grevenmacher and Oberdonven, with emergency teams from Mertert and Mertert-Grevenmacher responding.
Two more accidents, each leaving one person injured, happened between 4pm and 4.30pm. The first occurred on the N15 between Doncols and Pommerloch, and the second on Rue du Rail in Niederkorn. Fire brigades from Wiltz, Clervaux, and Winseler attended the N15 accident, while a CGDIS team from Sanem-Differdange responded to the Niederkorn incident.
