
On Monday afternoon, from 2.15pm to 3.45pm, the Luxembourg police conducted a compliance check on the N7 near Hoscheid-Dickt.
The operation focused on ensuring that motorists adhered to various regulations, including the proper use of seatbelts, the general technical condition of vehicles, and the legality of on-board documents. Additionally, officers monitored the use of mobile phones while driving.
During the check, a total of 22 fines were issued. Among those penalised was a motorist who was using their smartphone while driving, resulting in a fine of €250 and the loss of four points on their driving licence.
Two other individuals were fined for not wearing seatbelts, each receiving a penalty of €145 and a deduction of two points from their licences.
Other violations included fines for poor tyre condition (€145 and two points deducted) and a €24 penalty for a driver who could not provide valid insurance documentation.
Additionally, a goods transport driver was fined for leaving designated transit routes without authorisation.
