Various accidents and burglaries have been reported across the country between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. In Luxembourg City, one person was fined for a violation of the Covid-19 law.

Numerous accidents

At around 6.45pm on Tuesday, a motorist heading towards rue Marie et Pierre Curie crashed into a wall on Boulevard General Patton in Luxembourg City.

Due to the impact, the vehicle was hurled against another car, which had stopped at a red light. After the accident, the driver of the first vehicle escaped in the direction of Bonnevoie, where the police were later able to locate them. An alcohol test came back positive, and the person’s driving licence was confiscated.

In Colmar-Berg, two vehicles collided at around 7.40am on Wednesday. Two people were injured. The emergency services from Colmar-Berg, Ettelbruck, and Diekirch were on site.

Another collision occurred in the Stafelter Tunnel on the A7 at around 10.50am. One person was injured. The emergency services from Lintgen, Niederanven, and Luxembourg City intervened.

Burglaries across the country

Between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, burglaries occurred in both the Gare and Belair neighbourhoods in the capital. In addition, a thief stole an electric bicycle from a cellar in Howald. Attempted burglaries were reported in Neudorf, Bettembourg, and again in the Gare neighbourhood in Luxembourg City.

Drunk man disrupts bus traffic

At around 6pm on Tuesday, police were informed of an inebriated individual at the bus stop on Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City. The man refused to respect the mask mandate inside the bus and was harassing other passengers. The police decided to put the man into a drunk tank for the night. He was fined for refusing to comply with the Covid-19 law.
