Open letter to Claude MeischMounting frustration at lack of information concerning "competence centres"

RTL Today
Several unions have come together to address the current situation and criticise the ministry of education in an open letter.

"Dear minister, how much worth do you really attribute to the pupils of the competence centres?" This is the opening line of the letter in question, which was signed by several education unions, such as Apcca or SEW.

The document mainly criticises the lack of communication from the part of minister Meisch when it comes to the country's so-called competence centres.

Up until now, no information has been forwarded to the administrative departments on how to proceed with special needs pupils. It remains unclear at this point as to where these children will be watched if public day cares reach their maximum capacity.

Another pressing issue is the nature of said care, as these students are in desperate need of physical activities and contact.

The letter is critical of measures put into place thus far, as they were putting most of the pressure on parents and teaching staff while neglecting the needs of the pupils.
