Starting in April, motorcyclists can expect close scrutiny from the police, who will be conducting “checks specifically aimed at motorcyclists” on the roads most frequented by them. These controls will focus on verifying adequate equipment, the overall technical condition of the motorcycles, and ensuring that on-board documents are in order.
Authorities emphasize that the winter break from riding can pose a risk due to potential overestimation of one’s abilities. As a result, they recommend thorough maintenance checks before hitting the road again. These checks should include tyres, brakes, lighting, fluid levels (such as oil), and the battery.
Recognizing motorcyclists as vulnerable road users, the police urge them to adopt a “defensive and anticipating driving mode” and to remain vigilant at all times.
