The minister previously revealed that 610 people had benefited from the fund by the end of January. The financial aid is paid by the National Solidarity Fund to help people with stays in retirement homes.

As for the issue of rising prices for retirement home enrolment, the minister detailed that the Ministry of Family Affairs is unable to intervene in the price increases. Cahen confirmed these prices are set by managers.

The draft bill on the quality of services in the sector will include the development of a register designed to document the evolution of prices.

As for SERVIOR-structures, she stressed that the last generalised price increase took place just over ten years ago, in December 2009.
