Bofferding's work as minister has two goals. The first goal is to fight inequalities and the second is to promote equality. One of the most important aspects of that second goal is fixing the gender wage gap.
She explained that the law had been voted in and now the crucial step is to ensure that it is implemented in practice in companies.
Globally, Bofferding explained, the working world must become more connected to the issue of equal opportunities. She also believes that education should include discussions concerning gender equality.
Green MP François Benoy was pleased with the minister's ambition, a sentiment echoed by the opposition in the form of the Pirate Party's Marc Goergen.
Goergen praised Bofferding's ambitious approach to a widespread issue and in particular appreciated that Bofferding described herself as a coordinator between all the ministers, as the topic of gender equality and any disparities is one that concerns every ministry in the government.
Bofferding has a further goal of fighting sexism with the press and advertising agencies.
