The Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) has announced that Brian Halsdorf, currently serving as second alderman in the Kayl municipal council, will resign from his post in September.
The decision follows his appointment to a new position within the judiciary, which the LSAP says cannot be reconciled with his duties as alderman.
The party has put forward Romain Daubenfeld, the next-in-line candidate, as Halsdorf's replacement for the alderman role. In addition, Jérôme Vael is set to join the municipal council, stepping up to fill the resulting vacant seat.
