
On Monday morning, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn will report on the results of Luxembourg's refugee policy in the last year. First, at 9am, he will meet with MPs in the parliamentary commission on foreign affairs. Two hours later, Asselborn will brief the press on the results of last year.
Asselborn's briefing will include an update on the current refugee situation and Luxembourg's processes of accepting asylum seekers. In addition to that, he will discuss the various housing shelters dedicated to refugees. In the parliamentary commission, he will then take questions from MPs.
At 10.30am, Minister of Mobility and Public Works François Bausch will provide MPs in the parliamentary commission on mobility with further details concerning the state's biggest infrastructure projects. Other important meetings outlined for the rest of the week include the parliamentary commission meeting on the stages of the constitutional reform, the state council's report on reforming child protection laws, a statement by the Minister for Housing and explanations concerning the housing fund, and finally, the parliamentary commission on finance's meeting about Brexit on Friday.
Wednesday's agenda will also include the open debate resulting from the petition to ban or reduce plastic packaging in Luxembourg. The debate will begin at 9am and the petition was overwhelmingly popular, receiving more than 5,000 signatures.
