The national weather service Meteolux has issued a yellow alert for particularly low temperatures between -10 and -6 degrees. The alert is valid across the country between 11pm on Tuesday and 10am on Wednesday.
However, despite this alert, the chances for snowfall are – so far – rather slim.
The situation is not expected to change significantly over the holidays. It will remain mostly dry until Thursday, with a slight chance of rainfall on Christmas Eve.
According to private weather service Kachelmann Wetter, the chances for a white Christmas are also very slim.
On 25 December, the sky is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with a chance of rainfall in the evening and temperatures around 9 degrees.
