Police were called to Place Hamilius in the capital on Wednesday evening following a report of a brawl, only to discover a man had been assaulted and robbed at knifepoint.

Police responded to a brawl between several individuals on Place Hamilius on Wednesday evening around 7.20pm.

At the scene, officers found out that a man had in fact been held at knifepoint by two strangers, who then hit him on the head with a glass bottle and robbed him of his money.

The perpetrators had fled the scene by the time police arrived. An investigation has been launched.

Intoxicated motorist with driving ban stopped on the A13

Shortly after midnight, police were alerted to a reckless motorist on the A13 motorway driving in the direction of Schengen. Officers caught up with the man near the Markusberg tunnel and subjected him to an alcohol test, which came back positive. They further determined that he was already serving a driving ban, which they extended and paired with a fine.
