A man with underlying health condition died of the coronavirus at a care and retirement home in Esch.

Servior confirmed this to RTL upon request.

The individual had been hospitalised for other health-related issues and has now died in the care home.

The Servior accommodation, with residencies located in Dudelange, Esch, and "Op der Rumm" in the city centre, now counts a total of six confirmed coronavirus cases amongst its residents.

A further nine individuals present symptoms, however their tests results have not yet been completed.
About 120 Servior-residents have been quarantined as a preventative measure. This happens in cases where individuals have just left the hospital, for example.

So far, Servior has not received any reports concerning infected employees. Staff had responded quickly in putting safety measures in place, and were well equipped in terms of protective gear and buffer stock. Now it is a matter of being vigilant as regards supplies, using them wisely, and keeping to the Ministry of Health's guidelines, such as wearing protective masks.

Servior runs a total of 15 homes serving 1,600 customers.

This last fatality brings the official death toll to ten.
