The police have appealed for witnesses following an attack on Tuesday evening in the capital's station neighbourhood.

At around 10pm, a man was attacked by a stranger with a knife on Rue de Strasbourg. The victim sustained cuts to the neck and had to be taken to hospital. The injuries were fortunately not life-threatening.

According to the police bulletin, the perpetrator ran away in an undetermined direction. Police officers did search for the suspect in the aftermath of the attack, but were unsuccessful.

As a result, the police have appealed for witnesses. The perpetrator is of North African heritage, approximately 30 years old, and an ordinary build. The victim also noted that the attacker had short dark hair and bad teeth. The man was wearing a dark hoodie, black trousers, and dark trainers.
