There have been reports of “kilometres of traffic jams” shortly after noon on Saturday on the A3 motorway. A construction site located at the border is causing significant slowdowns.
The sector is limited to 70 km/h but some curious people are driving even slower to observe the imposing construction site installed at the edge of the highway.
Metal structures are being installed in order to eventually create a wildlife passage.
Commuters will probably have seen the preparation work coming or going from Luxembourg in recent weeks.
Today, three ‘covering tables’ will be arranged around the A3.
“With a width of 13.5 meters, they will then form a corridor 56 meters long”, according to construction company Felix Giorgetti.
The operation will take 12 hours, but is only half of the full task: the same tables in the direction of Luxembourg will be installed on site at the end of June.
