This confirmation was provided in response to a parliamentary question submitted by MP Sven Clement of the Pirate Party.

According to Asselborn’s answer, extensive renovation works have been underway for the past two years within the premises housing the Luxembourg Mission to the United Nations, where Ambassador Olivier Maes, serving as the permanent representative, resides. The refurbishment of this property, owned by the Luxembourg State, is expected to conclude by year’s end.

To accommodate Ambassador Maes and his family during this renovation period, the Luxembourg State has leased a flat situated within a building on 1st Avenue, known as “Trump World Tower.” This building is not to be confused with Trump Tower, located on 5th Avenue.

The state’s monthly rental expense for this flat amounts to $15,500 following a rate adjustment. Minister Asselborn notes that this flat was chosen due to the favourable price-to-quality ratio.

Unlike Trump Tower on 5th Avenue, the building in question is not owned by Donald Trump. He does not live there himself, and the Trump Organization does not maintain a presence within this building.
