Get out your bathing suits, summer is about to start! The Water Management Administration has confirmed that the favourites among people's swimming spots are all up to standard. According to recent inspections, the water in the Weiswampach lake, the Upper Sûre lake (including Rommwiss, Liefrange, Burgfried, Fuussefeld, Insenborn, and Lultzhausen), as well as in the Remerschen ponds has "excellent quality".
Bathing season officially starts on 1 May and lasts until 30 September. It remains to be seen which sanitary measures will come into effect this year.
During last year's summer, a free reservation system was put into place and designed to limit the maximum number of people present around the Upper Sûre lake. Last December, Esch-sur-Sûre Mayor Marco Schanck announced that the city will start charging for the service.
