Image galleriesLuxembourg is covered in snow, roads dangerously slippery

RTL Today
Between 2 and 5 centimetres of snow are expected to fall by Wednesday noon. Luxembourg's roads were already dangerously slippery on Tuesday evening so drivers are advised to keep the weather conditions in mind to stay safe.

On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, temperatures dropped below the freezing point. At 7am, it was still -6 degrees in Schengen and even -13 degrees in Schimpach in the north of Luxembourg.

Image galleries: Snow and cold cover Luxembourg

On Tuesday, temperatures didn't climb above 0 degrees and at about 4pm in the afternoon, it started snowing. A cold front came in through the west and slowly covered Luxembourg in a thin layer of snow.

While the snowy landscape looks pretty, drivers should be extra careful today - snow and black ice can make roads rather treacherous today.

The snowy weather conditions are only expected to last until about noon on Wednesday. After that, it will be largely dry with temperatures between -3 and 0 degrees.
