
In 2023, the fund brought 85 homes to market, either for rent or sale, which is 17 fewer than in 2022. Currently, around 3,300 affordable homes are planned or under construction.
The net turnover for 2023 dropped from nearly €32 million to €28 million. The deficit of €11.5 million has been carried forward. The fund currently holds building plots valued at €146 million.
In 2023, the fund spent €175 million on constructing affordable housing. Through the VEFA programme, which involves the state purchasing construction projects, the fund acquired approximately 190 units.
The Housing Fund’s largest construction projects include the “Wunne mat der Wooltz” neighbourhood, NeiSchmelz in Dudelange, “an der Schmëtt” in Biwer, “Cité Manertchen” in Echternach, and “Wëltgebond” in Mamer.
The Housing Fund employs nearly 200 people. For the past seven years, its board of directors has been chaired by Diane Dupont, representing the Ministry of Housing.
