In barely 48 hours, the prices of all fuels, heating oil and gas have undergone a completely unprecedented fluctuation, rising by an unprecedented notch and falling again just as brutally.
After a price explosion on Thursday morning which had caused a rush of motorists to the pumps during the night and a lively discussion in the Chamber of Deputies on Thursday, prices will again fall drastically.
This Friday evening at midnight, a liter of diesel, which had risen by 38.4 cents two days earlier, will drop by 41.7 cents! So diesel will be sold for €1,695 at the pump. Against the famous €2,112 still displayed this Friday evening and which will undoubtedly go down in history.
The Super 95 goes back to €1.733, a gain of 15.7 cents in 48 hours.
The Super 98 also goes down a good notch and goes to €1.82, a drop of 14.3 cents.
Residents and cross-border workers can breathe a “phew” of relief. The gain will be substantial for all portfolios. Concretely, from midnight, a full 50 liters of diesel will cost €84.75. Against € 105.55 for two days. That’s a gain of €20.80 on a full tank! In the end, motorists who run on diesel will pay a full tank cheaper than before Thursday’s price explosion (-€1.65).
The biggest drop will delight consumers of heating oil. After a sharp rise two days ago (+40 cents), the liter of fuel fell by 42.8 cents overnight. It will be displayed at €1.125 per liter this Saturday morning. Bottled butane will also cost 16.3 cents less per litre, which amounts to €2.804.
