Luc Marteling to take over as new National Audiovisual Centre Director

A change in leadership is on the way at the National Audiovisual Centre (CNA) in Dudelange. Luc Marteling, currently Director of Information at RTL Luxembourg, will take over as the new Director of the CNA, with effect from 1 January 2027.

The appointment was formalised on Friday morning during a council of ministers meeting.

Carlo Blum, Deputy Director of the National Library, has been serving as interim head of the CNA since the end of April.

His appointment followed the resignation of the previous Director, Gilles Zeimet, which came after weeks of controversy involving allegations of workplace bullying and a malfunctioning air-conditioning system affecting "The Family of Man" photography exhibition in Clervaux.

At the time, Culture Minister Eric Thill also came under pressure. In an RTL interview, the minister claimed that the photography exhibition, which holds UNESCO’s Memory of the World designation, had been exposed to excessively high humidity for only a matter of minutes. That claim turned out to be incorrect.

It is not yet known who will take over the leadership of the RTL editorial teams.

Marteling had served as Director of Information at RTL since 1 July 2024.
