The question of whether Luxembourg Airport will have to relocate at some point in the medium or long term regularly resurfaces in public debate. While that issue is not the direct focus of a debate scheduled for Tuesday in Parliament, the agenda does include the future development of the airport’s logistical capacity.
The debate was scheduled at the request of The Greens (Déi Gréng), who have raised several concerns about the airport’s future. Topics to be addressed include the airport’s environmental transition and its geopolitical positioning within the European aviation network.
More broadly, The Greens are seeking clarity on the government’s long-term vision for what they view as a strategic national asset. The question is particularly relevant given that the government is considering several potential sites for a possible relocation of the airport in the coming decades.
The debate will be broadcast live on the website of the Chamber of Deputies. It will be the ninth item on the agenda of public sitting No. 124, which is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
