The Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL), the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB), and the Luxembourg Neutral Trade Union (NGL-SNEP) issued a joint statement (FR) after news of the new licenses emerged.

According to the unions, the situation for the affected employees remains “unacceptable” since they continue to work without any guarantees of their “social benefits, their working conditions, or the sustainability of their jobs”.

The statement further notes: “The unions urge the Ministry for Mobility and Public Works, which represents the majority shareholder in Luxair and Cargolux, to do everything possible to facilitate negotiations with the affected companies as quickly as possible, with a view to safeguarding the rights and livelihoods of CargoCenter employees.”

Despite multiple meetings, including with former Mobility Minister François Bausch, the unions describe the negotiations as “deadlocked”.
